NAIAS Leaves Old Man Winter Behind.

The North American International AutoShow happens in January every year. NAIAS announced this would be the last winter show. The show will be moving to June after this year, a welcomed change. A summer show means they have the ability to have parts of the show outside. Being the last winter show it was smaller than normal. BMW, Mercedes and Mazda were all missing from this year's show. The show being smaller gave Rally Kings a chance to be part of the show with a big display. A smaller show wasn't a bad thing,  we got to spend more time with the headline cars this year.  The week started out with two cars making a splash at Barrett -Jackson in Scottsdale, ARZ.  The first produced all-new 2020 GR Supra sold at Barrett-Jackson for $2.1 million to benefit the American Heart Association. The 2020 GR Supra has an impressive 3.0 liter twin-scroll turbocharged inline six pushing 335 hp and a top speed of 155mph.

Ford was not to be outdone. They also sent a car to Barrett-Jackson to sell for the United Way of Southeast Michigan. The 2019 69 Heritage Edition Ford GT sold for $2.5 million. The 69 Heritage Edition will be a limited edition this year and should go fast. The Ford booth was one of the stars of the show with the new Mustang GT 500, Ford Edge ST and the new Ranger pickup.

Dodge(FCA) and GM both had new stars in their lineups too.  Dodge introduced the new line of their award winning Ram series. The new Ram and Powerwagon were impressive and should do good in a crowded truck market. Dodge also showed off their muscle with the new Hellcat Redeye and the Super Charger concept.

Acura showed off their racecars and the new street model of the NSX. KIA showed off the new Telluride and a KIA Forte Redbull Drift car plus a sweet DUB edition Stinger GT.

We left the show looking forward to the summer of 2020 for the new NAIAS. Warm Weather,  Sweet cars sounds like a WIN WIN.  Till then Smoke 'N' Smiles.
