Sketch Battle brings the Fight to Detroit.

 

 

 

 

 

Autoshow Week in Detroit  is full of parties and events but nothing like The Middlecott Sketchbattle Experience (TM). Sketchbattle is the Fight Club of automotive sketching. Artists come from all over to battle for a $2,500 prize and title of Sketchbattle champ with title belt.  Sketchbattle is a round based compatition with each round lasting 30 mins with a unique theme. Fans can be right up close to the artists. The event is judged by industry insiders from Dodge,FCA, and this years main judge was from GMC,Buick. Sketchbattle is a party like no other with people being able to mingle and enjoy time with other people from the automotive world. 

 

 

DJ Emily Thornhill (DjThornstryker}  keep the party going spinning the beats.

 

Satori Circus keeps the crowd on their toes with his fun and crazy antics.

 

 

There was also a Art Show with a silent auction to benefit Project "Beautiful Inside and Out". Close to $7,000 was raised from the nights events.

 

 

 

 

 

 

This years Battle took place at the Iconic St Andrews Hall made famous in the movie 8 Mile. 

 

 

 

Sketchbattle 15 kicked of with round ones theme being tires sponsored by Falken tire, there was alot of impressive sketches the judges had their hands filled.

 

 

                   

 

 

Round 2 had the theme of lighting narrowing the field from 8 to 4.

 

 

 

                             

Round 3 had the theme of color sponsored by BASF color was a new gold. The four Finialists were Sung Kwon Go, Omar Gonzalez defending  Las Vegas champ , Casey Swanseger, and  topping off an impressive week fresh off the Magna award at Main Event 20  Andres Bastidas.

 

 

 

 

 

                                                                                                                                       This years champ was Sung Kwon from CCS all of his sketches were solid and stayed true to the theme judges said    

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Congrats to Sung Kwon Go Sketchbattle 15 Detroit champ. 

We would like to thank Frank Schwarts and the Middlecott Sketchbattle Experiment (TM)crew for inviting us out. The experience was awesome and can't wait till next year. This event is a blast and would encourage everyone to come see what its about you wont be dissapointed. The first rule of fight club has changed talk about fight club. The Middlecott Sketchbattle Experience (TM) has more events  planned this year Chicago, Las Vegas, L.A and San Fransico. This is the only non-private party during the whole week of press days.
