Its that time again for fast cars and new records at M1Concourse. Motovicty Distribution sponsored the Speedring event this year. Drivers came from all over the US and Canada to get a piece of the prize pool this year. Canada showed strong this year taking three of the four awards. There was three classes street modified, Track modified and Unlimited. Motovicity and the guys from Gridlife put on a succesful event with lots of vendors from the automotive world and a Dj spinning music all day. Drivers and spectators got a chance to see new products from many vendors. M1 concourse was the scene for Speedring and the debut of the new Formula Drift style bracket battle. Two drivers on the track at a time. Best of three fastest laps move on. Awards went out to top three in each class and one more award went out to the fastest lap of the weekend.
Tom O'Gorman had a busy weekend between Speedring and another event at Mid-Ohio. Tom used a borrowed WRX to take home the Street Modified title beating Shawn Krebsbach in is EVO. Tom had impressive times in 1:10 range.
Wll Au Yeung seated 5th pushed his Vibrant Performance car to the title in Track Modified with impressive rounds against a Luke Mcgrew and his Viper ACR and winning the final battle against Jeremy Swenson in his Corvette.
James Houghton from Canada in his K-Tuned Integra took home the Unlimited class title with a win over Richard Boake and his Can-Jam WRX in the Semi-finals and beat Derek Boyd and his EVO in the finals.
Last but not lest the award for fastest laptime of the weekend. The Ultimate Badass award went to Richard Boake from Canada in his Can-Jam car posted a new track record going 1:2:398
The new bracket battle style was a hugh succes and next year should be even more impressive. The fastest cars in North America will be at Speedring next year for sure..
