Roadkill Nights takes over Woodward Avenue and Diezel Magazine takes on the Challenge.

RoadKill Nights was an Event to behold, from meeting and interviewing the Event organizer" Elana Scherr."  being VIP Media along side Motor Trend and Car and Driver, thrill rides with professional drivers, shooting the band " RockStar", meeting all the great DJs from 101WRIF as well as meeting top Drag Car Racer, Leah Pritchett.

It was one hell of an event.  My colleague  and I, Charles Ruggles took two different approaches to highlighting the day and races.  I chose to capture photos and write about the flow of the event and he decided to cover the most of the action.  I was a little under-the-weather that day which is out of the norm for me but, together captured some great moments of this amazing event.

Since it was the last year of the Viper, they had an amazing Viper parade.  Dodge Vipers showed up from all over the country!  It was an amazing spectacle.

Dodge VIP and hospitality services  are absolutely top notch.  I can't say anything but great things about the whole event from security too, to the knowledgable promo promotional models too the brilliant organization.  They say a picture will speak a thousand words but this event was so large and off-the-hook you would need an army of media to cover it to it's fullest.

Although, this is not a Dodge, this beautiful scene presented itself and I could resist taking this photograph.

I can not stress enough from that this more than a car event and, it was a taste of automobile culture.  Here you have a classic lemonade stand, showing hard work, true American muscle and grit.  America has always been known innovation, hard work and I believe Dodge showed innovation while this man shows tradition and a work ethic that so many are missing in today's society.

Rockstar made an appearance on center stage and tore it up with there beautifully orchestrated covers and tight sound.  They brought a lot of entertainment to those waiting hours to ride with one of the professional driver in one of many Dodge's amazing autos.

Some beautiful track photos and some background article on Road Kill Nights from Charles Ruggles below:

ROADKILL the widely popular youtube show from the guys at Hotrod Magazine started an event  three years ago at the Pontiac Silver Dome. The idea is legal street racing in the parking lot at the Dome. They called it Roadkill Nights,  It was an awesome event and a huge success.  So with the success of the first year the event staff were looking to improve the event. One idea was lets take it to the legendary Woodward Ave. Legal street racing back on the streets. So they reached out to the city of Pontiac and M1 concourse with the idea of a Automotive Festival at M1 concourse and drag racing on Woodward. City and track officials loved the idea and Dodge sponsored the event. Year 2 was yet another huge success. So Diezel Magazine decided to go to year 3. Dodge and Roadkill know how to put on a show. Dodge offered thrill rides in Vipers and Hellcats. Dodge also had a 200 Viper parade for Detroit to Pontiac. They also had a show n shine car show. The main event was the Drag racing and it didn't disappoint. Mopar racers Leah Pritchett and Matt Hagan did a drag demo for fans. Diezel Magazine had a blast at the event and we would like to thank Roadkill and Dodge for giving us the ability to cover it. Remember Roadkill Nights next year you wont be disappointed.
